An unsung hero of the Civil Rights struggle, Dr. Winston played an integral role in the Selma to Montgomery March as he provided health care for injured marches. Not only this, but he was a trailblazer for African-American doctors in
Montgomery. Such contributions resulted in him recently being awarded with a 2019 MLK Jr. Beloved Community Leaders Award.
Perhaps his most notable professional accomplishment was co-founding the
Pryor-Winston Medical Center, a practice dedicated to providing healthcare to the often underserved West Montgomery community for over five decades.
Dr. Terrell had more than 53 years of experience serving in ministry and 47 years serving as Pastor of various churches across the nation. He established and pastored churches in Texas, North Dakota, Virginia, Ohio, and Alabama. In March 1987, God spoke to his heart and gave him a vision to start a church in Montgomery, Alabama. A “Church Built on Love” and its mission would be to reach the multitudes and build bridges between the races and denominations. He established the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ where he served as Pastor until the Lord called him home from his labor.
Born in 1936 in Jeffersonville, GA. Blondine was an entrepreneur who loved to style your hair and have family get togethers with lots of food that she cooked. Don’t bring no food to her house! At 86 years old, Blondine was still doing hair, walking daily, in a book club and active with friends and family. Blondine passed away in July of 2023 and is dearly missed by family. We give this plaque to her daughter, Deedee, in her honor.

Mrs. Webb-Christburg is known as one of the youngest activists during the Civil
Rights Movement in Selma, Alabama in the 1960s and named by the late Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. as the “Smallest Freedom Fighter”. She uses her story of
courage, triumph, and overcoming adversity to impact millions across the
country and globally.
Because of Mrs. Webb-Christburg’s numerous encounters with racism and
poverty, for nearly 40 years she has helped thousands of youth in America gain the confidence they needed to break out of non-productive patterns and reach for success.
